Welcome To The Class Of 1971
These are my grade's school photos and span the years 1966 to 1971 inclusive. At this point we are missing a "preps" photo and/or confirmation of whether there was only the one prep class that year (1965). Nobody is sure but a couple of people think that in 1965 many of us were lumped into a couple of preps classes which also in many cases, included younger siblings and kids that would be too young to go into grade 1 the following year. The theory is that those who were both capable & old enough, went up to grade 1 in the following year while others simply did another year of preps - well the theory is something along those lines anyway. If you look at the grade 1 photos for 1966, you'll find many of those kids did grade 6 in 1971 while many others in the photos, didn't do grade 6 until 1973 - two years later! If you (or your parents) have a theory on this, please let us know.
The class of 71 has been very active over the last few years with people meeting at Solway open days, developing this website, a reunion lunch in early 2007 and a dinner planned soon. Watch this page & the notices area for future events. We have also completed a photo album of all the Solway photos in MS Word format, it shows all the photos and the names of students - similar to how you see this page.
