About this site?
My name is Ian GARDENER and I run this website. I am the grandson of George Frederick GARDENER & Nellie Marion Mc DOUGALL. The last of their children still living is Peter, I am his oldest child.
In between raising a family & running a business, I have dabbled with our family history for over ten years now & managed to locate and/or accumulate genealogical material on over a hundred of our relations. They include many of George & Nellies' descendants but there are still huge holes & many "missing" relatives.
Unfortunately I am dealing with a recurring brain tumour & as a result, I can no longer work & have very limited mobility & it's a double edged sword. I now finally have loads of free time to work on the family history but my limited mobility & living hours away from Melbourne, make on the ground research nearly impossible. I also don't know how much longer I might have, brain cancer is a difficult beast.
So this website is a valuable tool in assisting with the research & has enabled a number of missing relatives to make contact. If you can assist, please do.
